Historic England is looking for a motivated junior front-end developer to join the team. Collectively we have a passion to create digital experiences that users just love. As the public body that champion`s England`s historic environment, we help people understand, value and care for a diverse range of cultural records from the stone-age to the contemporary. We also continue to support English Heritage through a shared services agreement, as they manage a range of historic places across the country as a charity.

Working as part of a team including an experienced front end developer, UX, designers and back-end developers you will help manage the interaction between the back-end of the website and the user. In this excellent development opportunity, you will work together with the Front-end Developer to implement all front-end interfaces from the main design layout to implementing animations and managing media.

We are looking for someone with skills in HTML and CSS, and ideally some experience with SASS and JavaScript, to a dynamic team of web designers and back-end developers. With prior experience of working in a web development role, you will have the ability to deliver working software swiftly and some knowledge of mobile first and responsive design principles.
