Designation Yearbook 2014-15

New Highlights from the National Heritage List

By Editor Dr Paul Stamper

The third annual Designation Yearbook features a wide range of buildings and sites added to the National Heritage List for England in 2014-15. The diversity of work undertaken by the Designation Department is showcased this year through projects including the revision of early schedulings, new schedulings of medieval settlements, and the listing of war memorials, later C20 Commercial offices, rural schools and pumping stations. Unusual listings include a1960s play sculpture, a skatepark, a bacon smokehouse and some unusual public lavatories. In March 2015 for the first time the List received its millionth visitor in one year, a notable milestone.
