Art School, Hope Street, Liverpool Merseyside

The earliest part of the art college faces Mount Street. It was built in 1882 and designed by Thomas Cook in a classical style. The main entrance in Hope Street was an extension of 1910 designed by Willink & Thicknesse. It is also in a classical style. A further extension was added in 1961. In the 1960s it was attended by John Lennon who became one of the Beatles pop group. The college has since become part of Liverpool John Moores University.
