Bandstand in Ward Jackson Park, Hartlepool

This bandstand dates from 1901and was designed by J.&.A. Law Ironfounders of Glasgow. It is in a classical style with cast iron Corinthian columns. Large crowds would gather to listen to bands playing in the park particularly on Sundays when other places of entertainment such as theatres and cinemas were closed.
