Bents Park, South Shields, Tyne and Wear

Along with shipbuilding, heavy industry and coal mining, the Victorian era brought large numbers of holidaying families to the coastline of the north east, fueling a bonanza of new leisure facilities and infrastructure. Bents Park, a 20th-century addition, incorporates many traditional features, including a bandstand, parade, miniature amphitheatre and green.
