Birdwell Obelisk, Worsbrough, South Yorkshire

The Obelisk was constructed in 1775 for the Second Earl of Stafford. The structure marks a 3 miles distance away from Wentworth Castle (a distance which is duly recognised at the Obelisk). The obelisk was struck by lightning on 6 June 1906.
