Church Lane, Whitby, North Yorkshire

A baker makes deliveries in Whitby, climbing the steep lane from the quayside leading to St Mary's Church and Whitby Abbey. The lane is cobbled and the raised strips added to help animals and people find their footing are still in place. It is known locally as Donkey Lane. To the left of the lane are 199 steps known as Church Stairs that also lead from the quayside to the church.
