Church of St Modwen, Market Place, Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire

The parish church was built between 1719 and 1726, initially by William and Richard Smith of Tettenhall and then completed by Francis Smith. Saint Modwen was an Irish noblewoman of the 7th Century who founded a religious house on a small island in the River Trent. Inside the church there is a monument to Lady Fowler (1825) by Sir Rich Westmacott.
