Crimean War Memorial, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

This was memorial was built in the late 1850s. It commemorates those that died in the Crimean War. A panel on it reads 'Taken at Sebastopol 1856'. This refers to a cannon that was originally part of the monument. The cannon was handed to the government during the Second World War to provide metal for armaments. It is a very rare and notable monument to the Crimean War.
