Deans Cottage, Formby, Merseyside

The inside of the kitchen looking towards the window with a kitchen cupboard beneath. There is a variety of tins of food, crockery and kitchen utensils. Hanging from the wall on either side of the window is a whisk turned by a handle and a tin opener with a wooden handle and simple blade. Although this photograph was taken in the 1960s the kitchen would have been old fashioned then. Other photographs of this house suggest that the cooking still took place in the living room over the fire. The jug and bowl suggest that water had to be collected from outside the kitchen.
