Durrington Walls, Wiltshire

A Later Neolithic henge enclosure of roughly oval shape measuring around 490 metres northwest-southeast and 470 metres northeast-southwest, defined by a ditch with external bank. The henge appears to have been laid out as 2 concentric circles of timber uprights. In 1966-8 the A345 was re-routed through the monument and can be clearly seen.
