Gas holders at Darlaston, West Midlands

Gasometers were once a familiar site in the urban landscape, rising and falling depending on the volume of gas they were storing. With the development of natural gas they have become redundant and most will be demolished. Two horses make a surprising contrast as they graze on the site of the former gas works.
