Villagers gathered outside the Gladstone Hall, viewed from Gladstone Road. The Gladstone Hall, designed by William Owen, was built by Lever Brothers as part of the model village of Port Sunlight to house the workers in their soap factory. The Bedford Lemere daybook records Lever Brothers as clients for this photograph.
