The Meare, Suffolk

Thorpeness was conceived as a 'fantasy' holiday village by Scottish landowner, barrister and playwright G. Stuart Ogilvie in the 1920s. Based around an artificial lake called The Meare, mock Tudor and Jacobean styled houses sit alongside faux lath and plaster cottages and a medieval styled gatehouse.
