ASKWITH ASKWITH MOOR ROAD SE 15 SE (east side) 6/2 Gate piers approximately 100 metres west of Shaw Hall GV II

Pair of gate piers. Late C17. Ashlar. Approximately 2 metres high. Banded rusticated piers with hollow moulded cornices and stepped pyramid finials. Shaw Hall (qv) is dated 1687 and these piers are a rare survival from this period.
