BULMER MAIN STREET (north side) The Old Rectory

(Formerly listed as The Old Vicarage)

GV II

House of two builds. Late C18 with earlier origins. Limestone rubble brought to course with brick facing in Flemish bond to main facade, pantile roof, brick stacks. Hallway entry with evidence for considerable alteration of plan. Outshuts under catslide roofs to rear. Two storeys with single storey extensions, formerly barns, now accommodation and garage, to either end. Five first floor windows. C20 half-glazed door flanked by fluted pilasters carrying moulded pediment. Sashes with glazing bars under keyed stone lintels throughout. Dentilled eaves course. Swept roof, gable coping, shaped kneelers. End and ridge stacks.

Interior contains late C18 staircase with columnn-on-vase balusters, and late C17 oplat balusters to landing. Six-fielded-panel doors and dado rail survive to three principal ground floor rooms.
