UPPINGTON Roman altar approximately 5 metres to south east of nave of Church of the Holy Trinity

GV II Roman altar. Probably C2 or C3. Grey sandstone. Rectangular section. Moulded base to north west and north east and raised circle on south west face. The altar was discovered when the church was restored in 1885.
