Church of St Andrew, Main Street, Garthorpe - Melton

Church, mainly C11-C15 with some C17 additions. Restored and chancel rebuilt in 1846 by Weightman and Hadfield. There is evidence of slipped and missing slates to the chancel roof, where several ridge tiles are open jointed. Some localised ironstone repair and replacement is needed. The spire has some open joints and rain water is penetrating through the louvres. Glazing is also in need of repair. The church has been the subject of Heritage Crime. Grant funding is being sought.
