Brentford Fountain, Western International Market, Hayes Road - Hounslow

Drinking Fountain of 1877 in grey granite, with railings and lamp standards. Originally located in Brentford and a prominent local landmark, it was moved to its current location on the edge of an industrial estate in 1974. The lamp standards are badly damaged or missing and its setting means that it is subject to anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, and significant littering. There is interest from a local group, Brentford Voice, in securing its future and a proposal from a developer to move the fountain back into Brentford with full public access. Discussions are at a very early stage.
