Guildhall, Town Street, Thaxted - Uttlesford

Built between 1390 and 1410 for the Guild of Cutlers. Altered and restored in early C18, c1910 and 1978. Timber framed and plastered with exposed frame. Red plain tile double hipped roofs; three storeys and cellar. Concerns over rotting sole plate to covered 'market' part of building, which also serves as the entrance, has led to a scheme of temporary propping.
