Guildhall, Town Street, Thaxted - Uttlesford

Built between 1390 and 1410 probably as a moot hall. Altered and restored in early C18, c1910 and 1978. Timber framed and plastered with exposed frame. Red plain tile double hipped roofs; three storeys and cellar. Temporarily propped. Owned by Essex County Council and leased to Uttlesford District Council who sub-let it to Thaxted Parish Council. In use as a community centre. Historic England funding repairs to sole plate and posts: Repair work expected to commence summer 2019.
