Moot Hall, 63-66, Boroughgate, Appleby-in-Westmorland - Eden

Late C16 Moot Hall retaining its original use. The building is constructed of rendered masonry walls and slate roof. The render appears to have been patch repaired over many years and is now predominantly cementitious. This render is trapping moisture within the fabric, damaging linings and endangering timbers. The roof, with its chimney stacks and bellcote, and the inadequate rainwater goods all present maintenance challenges. A Historic England Repair Grant has been awarded to fund an urgent repairs project to address these issues, with completion planned for 2022.
