Church of St Peter and St Paul, Crown Street, Dagenham - Barking and Dagenham

Most of the church was rebuilt in 1800 in the Strawberry Hill Gothic style, using red brick quoins and dressings to frame ashlar and ragstone panels. A fine open-truss roof spans the nave. The chancel and north chapel are medieval, rendered over ragstone; the interior has been re-ordered. The church has been awarded a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for repairs to the tower roof and lantern as well as masonry and windows. The repairs were held up by Covid-19 and are expected to complete in the autumn of 2020.
