Church of St Stephen, St. Stephen-in-Brannel - Cornwall (UA)

Large parish church. Classic Cornish plan of three parallel ranges with a west tower and south porch. C12 origins and developed in the C15 and C19 restorations. Granite walls and sized Cornish slates, with ragslates on the outer pitches. The porch roof and the south outer pitch had sufficient slippage to need replacement. The south valley gutter arcade plate had dry rot from a former leak. The tower roof had stress cracking. A Heritage Lottery Fund Grant for Places of Worship was awarded, and repair work was completed in 2016. More faults on the north roof slopes still keep the church at risk.
