Church of St John, Park Street, Taunton - Taunton Deane

Built 1858-1863, by George Gilbert Scott. Chancel, nave, north and south aisles; north chapel; south porch and choir vestries at the north-east. Prominent tower and spire with polychrome banded decoration, and figures of the apostles in tabernacles masking the broaches. A faculty was granted in 2016 for alterations to the west end to make the church accessible to a wider range of people. The roofs are also aging and in need of work, and the high level stonework is potentially fragile.
