Church of St John the Evangelist, Eckington - North East Derbyshire

Church dating from 1838-40. The chancel is used for worship and the remainder of the building for community uses. There are slipped slates, blocked gutters and gulleys, grass and moss to north roofs, woody growths in tower masonry, self-seeded saplings and some ivy growth at wall bases and significant ivy growth up the east face of the tower. There are many significant open joints in masonry. The west wall of the north aisle has suffered movement. A grant from the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund was awarded in 2015 to address some of these issues.
