Church of St Mary and St Hardulph, Breedon Hill, Breedon on the Hill - North West Leicestershire

Parish Church, formerly the church of an Augustinian Priory founded early C12. Parts of the west tower are early C12, raised in C14-C15. C13 aisled chancel is now used as nave. The south aisle, east wall and spandrels of nave arcades include narrow stone friezes with Saxon carvings of interlace ornaments and grotesque beasts. The church is in fair order but there was some signs of low level damp to the north aisle. The internal walls of the tower are suffering from significant wind erosion. Some stone replacement and repointing is required. Grant funding is being sought.
