Church of the Holy Cross, Tetcott - Torridge

Parish church. Fabric of nave and chancel C13, south transept C13 or C14, tower C15, vestry probably C19. Stone rubble with granite dressings, the tower ashlar masonry with granite quoins and lacing, slate roofs. Fittings including several good C18 wall monuments. The church forms part of an important group including Tetcott Manor and associated buildings. The north wall is still moving, even after works to stop the roof spreading. Tower masonry needs repointing and the roof re-covering to prevent water ingress to the belfry and ringing chamber.
