Church of St John the Baptist, Main Street, Knossington and Cold Overton - Melton

Parish church of C13 origin with C14, C15 and c1800 additions. Restored by J T Micklethwaite in 1889. A significant National Lottery Heritage funded repair project to address a range of defects including high level movement, poor drainage, significant low level damp and extensive high level mould growth should complete by summer 2019. Important C14 wall paintings have been sensitively conserved as part of the project. Particularly damp high level masonry will take an extended period to dry out and only then might mould growth recede.
