Christ Apostolic Church (formerly St Columba), Kingsland Road, Hackney E2 - Hackney

The Parish Church was built in the Gothic revival style in1868-9 by James Brooks and the mortuary chapel was added in 1904-5 by E Geldart. It forms an enclosed courtyard with the vicarage and Sisters' House, listed separately. Construction is in red brick with Bath stone dressings. There are defects in the high level lantern above the central tower, and in the rainwater disposal system causing damage to the masonry. A recent fall of a section of guttering has caused damage to the slates of the north aisle.
