Church of St Marylebone, Marylebone Road, Westminster W1 - Westminster, City of
Built c1818, designed by Thomas Hardwick with chancel remodelled in 1884 by Thomas Harris. Corinthian portico and tower surmounted by a domed cupola supported by golden caryatids. Built in Portland stone with metal and tiled roofs. There are problems with the timber roof structure and roof coverings, and also to the stone in places. In 2016 the church was awarded a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their Changing Lives project, which will include the repairs to the church fabric. The congregation are actively fundraising with a view to commencing works in 2021.
