Gunpowder works at Kennall Vale, Stithians - Cornwall (UA)

This large scheduled area is centred on a steep sided, wooded valley, which contains remains of ruined buildings, mills, leats and bridges associated with a C19 gunpowder works. After years of abandonment, the many ruined structures on the site are at risk from tree and vegetation growth, water and footpath erosion and collapse. Recently, the most 'at risk' structures and leats were consolidated through a Natural England Stewardship scheme but there remain many outstanding management needs.
