Church of St Helen, Barkerstone Lane, Plungar, Redmile - Melton

Parish church dating from C15 with an earlier C14 tower. The south aisle was rebuilt, and the chapel added in 1855-56. Constructed from ironstone with limestone dressings. The church has been the subject of heritage crime in 2019. The tower roof and subsequent roof structure are in poor condition and damp, with significant repairs required. The congregation is keen to effect repairs and are investigating possible funding avenues.
