Battle of Braddock Down, Broadoak / St. Pinnock - Cornwall (UA)

Battle of Braddock Down, 1643. A large proportion of the designated area of the battlefield is under plough, including two of the scheduled barrows. The site is therefore at risk. Geophysical survey work was undertaken in 2015 on two of the barrows within the battlefield, surrounding ditches, and a small area of adjacent ground. If arable reversion follows to protect the barrows, it will also afford protection from further disturbance to the battlefield and any buried deposits, particularly in the barrow ditches. However the battlefield as a whole will still be at risk.
