Extensive late C18 landscape park by Lancelot Brown, Humphry Repton and Thomas White. Numerous Classical buildings in park and pleasure grounds. Remnant early C20 formal gardens around house. Edwardian formal gardens removed and the replacement scheme remains incomplete. Important at risk listed structures within landscape are being addressed under a Natural England Stewardship scheme. Land and woodland management improving condition. Improvement works to Newsham Lake in progress and water returned to much of the lake. A high percentage of parkland remains under a long-standing arable regime.
