Lupton Park, Kingswear - Torbay (UA) / South Hams
The designed landscape was principally developed from the late-C18 through to mid-C19. After World War II the house became a hotel, then a school. Today a trust occupies the house (at risk) with the degraded Italianate garden, while other owners occupy the park, walled garden, pleasure grounds and woodlands. In 2015 Historic England funded a condition report for the Italianate Garden and a further grant for development work on the house and garden was offered with work underway in 2017-19. The condition of the park is being tackled by a Natural England Stewardship Scheme.
