Ickwell Bury, Old Warden / Northill - Central Bedfordshire (UA)
A landscape park comprising late C17 walled gardens and late C18/early C19 pleasure grounds, parkland and woodland surrounding the former Ickwell Bury Manor, destroyed in 1937 and subsequently rebuilt attached to the C17 stable block. The site was divided across multiple ownerships following sale of the estate in 1924. The resulting differential management affects legibility of the overall landscape design and condition of individual landscape features, such as the 2-kilometre-long vista extending north west from the house. The site requires a holistic strategy and more coordinated management.
