Gate Piers to former Naval Dockyard, Grove Street SE8 SE8 - Lewisham

Early C19 gate piers and wall to one of the earliest British royal dockyards which was founded by Henry VIII in 1513. The wall has square piers of multicoloured stock brick with stone cornices and ball finials. This section is in poor condition with some structural problems that are under investigation. Listed Building Consent has been granted for temporary stabilisation works and discussions are underway regarding a permanent repair scheme.
