Newarke Wall (Along north west end of Gardens of Newarke Houses Museum), the Newarke - Leicester, City of (UA)

Wall, c1423, which formed the boundary of St Mary-de-Castro and The Newarke. Coursed stone with ramp coping. Approximately fifteen feet high. Suffering slow decay for a number of years; significant weathering to the stone face and detailing, exacerbated by the presence of previous repairs/re-pointing in cement mortar. Risk of damage from plant growth. Leicester City Council would like to undertake repairs in 2020/21 subject to their funding position and relative repair priorities elsewhere.
