Wall, c1423, which formed the boundary of St Mary-de-Castro and The Newarke. Coursed stone with ramp coping. Approximately fifteen feet high. Suffering slow decay for a number of years; significant weathering to the stone face and detailing, exacerbated by the presence of previous repairs/re-pointing in cement mortar. Risk of damage from plant growth.This structure is scheduled under 'Leicester Castle and the Magazine Gateway' Scheduled Monument (NHLE 1012147).
