Shodfriars Hall, 2 and 4, South Street - Boston

Former Guild Hall, c1400. C17 additions. Restored and extended by John Oldrid Scott and George Gilbert Scott Jnr 1873-75 for Boston Conservative Club, adding theatrical hall to the rear. Roof and fabric repairs undertaken 1991-95. Part-occupied. Degradation of internal surface finishes in unoccupied areas. Rainwater disposal system blocked by organic matter and established plant growth. Slipped and missing tiles causing isolated severe and on-going water ingress, onset of fungal and beetle attack. Owner in discussion with Historic England and Local Authority.
