Mausoleum of George Dodd, Norwood Road, West Norwood Memorial Park SE27 - Lambeth

Mausoleum, circa 1865, by Thomas Allom. Built of white marble in an Italian Gothic style, with a rectangular plan of three bays defined by pinnacle buttresses. In 2019 the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded the Local Authority a grant under the Parks for People programme which secured funding for the repair of priority monuments. Work on the wider project is currently progressing. The vegetation has been removed (spring 2023), however the mausoleum is in a very poor state of repair, and discussions are in progress regarding repairs and potential funding sources.
