Church of St Michael and All Angels N16 - Hackney

The Church of St Michael and All Angels was designed by JEK Cutts and completed in 1884. It was listed at grade II on 15 December 2021. Although typical of his many robust Gothic Revival church designs, this one employed cast concrete to imitate stone for all the window and other dressings, including the tracery of the East window. The church has suffered structural movement in the past and the chancel arch and west porch were underpinned in 1994 and 1997 respectively. Of major concern is the instability of the west wall, and this will need careful monitoring and assessment.
