The Crescent, Buxton - High Peak

1780-1790. Lodging Houses and hotel designed by John Carr of York for the 5th Duke of Devonshire. External repairs were completed in 1993-96 after intervention by the Secretary of State. The scheme to convert the Crescent and adjoining Natural Baths to a luxury hotel has attracted substantial funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England. Repairs are largely complete and fit out of rooms, restaurant and spa facilities is nearing completion. It is anticipated that all works will be complete by the end of 2020, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.
