Ruins of Merdon Castle, Hursley - Winchester
Circular Late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age earthwork with remains of Norman tower structure and length of curtain surviving as flint core work, all in need of structural repair and consolidation. A development phase, including vegetation clearance and investigations works has been undertaken with the benefit of a Countryside Stewardship grant and assistance from Historic England. Implementation of repairs and long-term management subject to availability of funding.
