Sherborne House, Newland, Sherborne - Dorset (UA)

Grand town house of c1720 with earlier elements, formerly a school. Fine internal features include the formal stairhall decorated with Thornhill wall paintings. Planning Permission for gallery/office use has been approved and works have included the installation of a lift/stair core at the rear of the house and external repairs. The interior was damaged by dry rot and still requires refurbishment. The properrty was sold in 2018 and a new charitable trust has been set up for it. Initial pre-application advice has been provided by Historic England and the LPA regarding a new use.
