Sherborne House, Newland, Sherborne - West Dorset

Grand town house of c1720 with earlier elements, formerly a school. Fine internal features such as the formal stairhall decorated with Thornhill wall paintings. Planning Permission for gallery/office use has been approved but reinstatement of residential use is still an option. External repairs completed but interior was damaged by dry rot, and refurbishment is still awaited whilst the building remains unoccupied. Enabling development works have included the installation of a lift/stair core at the rear of the house. Put on the market in early 2018.
