Mortuary Chapel, Stoke Newington High Street, Abney Park Cemetery N16 - Hackney

Gothic Revival cemetery chapel, dating from 1839. The chapel is situated in the centre of the early C19 cemetery. A first phase of repairs to the roof, spire and high-level stonework was completed in 2017, with funding from Hackney Council and Historic England. The Local Authority has been awarded significant funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a project to improve the cemetery landscape. This includes a second phase of repairs to the chapel including underpinning and new windows, enabling it to be used for community uses and events. Works are on-going on site.
