Mortuary Chapel, Stoke Newington High Street, Abney Park Cemetery N16 - Hackney

Gothic Revival cemetery chapel, dating from 1839. The chapel is situated in the centre of the early C19 cemetery. A first phase of repairs to the roof, spire and high level stonework was completed in 2017, with funding from Hackney Council and Historic England. In January 2018 the Local Authority was awarded a first round pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a project to improve the cemetery landscape. This will include a second phase of repairs to the chapel, enabling it to be used for community events.
