Monument to Major John Cartwright, St Mary at Finchley Churchyard, Hendon Lane N3 - Barnet

Monument erected in 1835 to Major John Cartwright by public subscription. Built of yellow oolitic limestone, with a square tapering obelisk and armorial and portrait roundels. The monument has been dismantled since 2008 due to its dangerous condition. A condition survey was carried out in 2017 with funding from Historic England. Faculty Consent was granted in 2018 for the conservation and repair of the vault and obelisk. Works are in progress with funding from Historic England and are due to be completed in 2018.
