Hackney Borough Disinfecting Station, Millfields Road E5 - Hackney

Disinfecting station built in 1900 by Gordon and Gunton for Hackney Borough Council. The building is in very poor condition following years of water ingress. A number of surveys and reports have been undertaken in order to better understand the building's significance and condition. Asbestos and stored items have been cleared. Emergency repairs and mothballing works were partially completed, including propping to unstable areas in 2022 but further urgent works are required. The Local Authority is in discussions with internal and external stakeholders to identify a viable way forward.
