Canal enclosure walls to south, Weedon Bec - West Northamptonshire (UA)

Early C19 structure part of an extraordinary Napoleonic military complex. Brickwork is in poor condition and vegetation growth (which includes very many self-seeded trees) is damaging. The whole site was underused for many years and was left in poor condition. It was sold in early 2013 and is now home to various businesses. Historic England grant aided the assessment of non-beneficial elements in 2015 and subsequently awarded funds for the repair of the north east bastion, a priority, in 2021. This work completed in 2023. Self-set trees were cut back in 2023.
