Red Castle, Hawkstone Park, Weston-under-Redcastle - Shropshire (UA)
The standing remains of a C12/C13 medieval castle in a largely restored C18 landscape. Recent research suggests that the remains were significantly adapted as part of the designed landscape which includes the adjacent Hawkstone Follies. The masonry is in vulnerable condition and deteriorating. Invasive vegetation needs to be brought under control. A management plan for the site has been completed with recommendations.
