Cannington Shaw Bottle Shop, Site of Sherdley Works - St Helens

Late C19 tank furnace glass shop, with oval 'chimney' and remains of furnace heating system. Derelict since closure of the works in the late 1980s; it is now badly overgrown, with structural deterioration. Cannington Shaw Preservation Trust Community Interest Company continue in their efforts to save the building. A feasibility study has been prepared, funded by the Architectural Heritage Fund, and repairs have been costed. It is hoped that repair and reuse can be tied into a wider regeneration scheme.
